World Book Day 2022
On Thursday 3th March 2022, Birchwood enjoyed getting involved with World Book Day, celebrating the 25th year of ‘changing lives through a love of books and shared reading’.
As a school, we are continually striving to promote reading, as we know that reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success, and so children had
many opportunities to do so throughout the day, with children and adults of all ages.
Children and staff were invited to come into school dressed as their favourite book character. We also immersed ourselves in various book related activities.
Children were also given the opportunity to watch 'The Masked Poet', where staff recorded themselves reading a poem disguised as an emoji. They thoroughly enjoyed the mysteries of whose face was behind the mask.
